Pairing: Tesra x Nnoitra
Spoilers: through ch 313
This is a long-overdue essay for the pairing. I know they’re Arrancars and all, but the poor things don’t get enough fandom support.
This essay is in several sections due to length, and it is panel-intensive. Analysis is one thing, but as far as the story goes I like to show it, not tell it. All panels quoted are from Ju-Ni scanlations due to their overall excellent translations. Please direct all comments to this main page here for ease of discussion.
The title of this essay is a reference to both the vol 33 poem and the revised title of ch 312. To look “higher than the moon” is to look heavenward; how appropriate for this pairing.
One of the main themes of this essay is the concept of equals vs not-equals. As such, the pairing’s relationships and interactions with other characters will be discussed as a necessary part of the issues they have to overcome. Please be adult enough to not take this as slinging stones at other pairings.
